Since The big race in New York City a few weeks ago I have been undergoing some serious treatment and rehab for my knee. We have a new trainer here at the U of A named Aki. He has really helped to speed up this process by thinking outside the box and not just treating the problem. We have been working on strengthening my hip flexors and stretching my I.T. bands to take pressure off of my patellar tendon. The recovery is coming along quite effortlessly actually. My knee is feeling better everyday. Until the time comes that I feel 100% confident that the problem is gone I will be in the pool in the morning and on the Alter G in the afternoon. I have tried this approach to my training before and the results were really great.
On a side note, I am in Branson, Mo this weekend with my family celebrating the 4th of July. happy birthday America! We have rented out a boat for the whole day, and the men are golfing tomorrow morning on one of the best courses in Branson. I might add that while driving by the course on the way to our cabin I caught a glimpse of the course....I think it may also be the toughest too. Wish me luck!
I've recently run into some knee trouble in the same areas. What kind of exercises are you doing to treat it?
ReplyDeleteAlex, If you could post your e-mail here I could send you all of the exercises that I have been doing.
